Rebuild my Church

Rebuild my Church

Feast of St. Francis: Oct. 4, 2019

Like St. Francis, how is Christ calling you to rebuild his Church? In prayer, through the people he has put in your life and through your circumstances, are you paying attention to how the voice of God is calling you to rebuild his Church?

Makes Us Whole

Makes Us Whole

Family members are our “flesh and blood” and consequently “part” of who we are. However, God is not just a “part” of our lives but it is he and he alone that makes us “whole.” God never meant for us to live apart from him. However, in a world touched by sin we have grown accustomed to this unnatural separation from God. God invited us into ever deeper Communion with himself so that we may be made “whole” and live life to its fullest potential.

Since the beginning of the Church, it has always been a temptation to neglect prayer for the sake of doing for stuff for the needs of the growing Church. However, this means to unplug ourselves from the source of all fruitful Christian activity. Take a look at your life. Have you safe guarded time for prayer daily? Do you need to change your daily routine to ensure you have time to spend conversing with our Lord and allowing him to refresh, guide and empower you?

The life of Christ cannot help but respond to the needs of the poor, both in word and in deed. Be open to how the poor may inspire you to respond and have confidence that the Lord will multiply your efforts and equip you with what you need to love the least of his children.

We are children of the light. The Lord aims to break into the prison of our darkness and set us free into the light of a new day. There he asks us to give testimony to the power of the Light in our Lives. Share with at least one person this week how the Light of Christ has come into your life and rescued you from being chained to darkness.
